Thank you for choosing to complete your ConstructSafe assessment with Workplace Training. Please carefully read the following information if you or your team are completing a ConstructSafe assessment or training course with us.

ConstructSafe Assessments

About Workplace Training Limited

Workplace Training Limited (Workplace Training) is a small team of specialist trainers and assessors who possess many years practical experience in the provision of training and assessment activities for adult learners.

Workplace Training is an approved ConstructSafe assessment provider. A key point here is that we are independent and impartial in our provision of assessment services.

What to Expect

The ConstructSafe assessments are not training courses; they are online assessments administered by an approved assessment provider. The assessments are delivered through touch screen tablets provided by Workplace Training, supported by an audio feed to assist candidates with reduced literacy skills or who have English as a second language.

  • This will mean you are given a ConstructSafe number before taking your assessment. 

  • Pre-registration is free for candidates

  • Please ensure the information you enter is accurate.

  • Please have your ConstructSafe number with you or inform your supervisor that you have pre-registered.

ConstructSafe Assessment Fees

Workplace Training will provide a quotation of assessment fees upon request. Written quotes provided by Workplace Training are valid for 7 business days. 

General

  • Should candidates not successfully pass the assessment on their first attempt, they are eligible to immediately resit the assessment for an additional fee. The fee for a second attempt resit is $50+GST (the same applies for every even numbered attempt).

  • All resits must be completed within 30 days of an unsuccessful assessment. Where the candidate does not resit the assessment within 30 days, the candidate in accordance with ConstructSafe requirements will be required to pay the full cost of the assessment again as identified above (i.e cost equivalent to that of 1st attempt).

  • Please note $60 of odd numbered assessment attempts (e.g. the 1st and 3rd assessment) per person is paid directly to ConstructSafe by Workplace Training for their management of the programme. 

  • All identified costs are GST exclusive.

Time Required

We allow 1.5 hrs for the completion of the candidates first attempt and or completion of a resit where required. Where a candidate fails to complete their first and/or resit assessment within 1.5 hrs, the candidate will be considered not to have successfully completed the assessment. The candidate has the option of resitting the assessment for an additional fee as specified within the General clause above.

Safety

Candidates must comply with all safety procedures that relate to the completion of assessments or the provision of training by:​

  • Obeying safety instructions of assessment provider supervisors

  • Not being under the influence of alcohol or drugs

The completion of assessments or training is subject to cancellation in the event of unsafe conditions. Our assessment supervisors will make a decision relating to safety concerns in consultation with candidates.

Respect for Others

More often than not there will be other people being assessed with you. Please respect the rights of other people and our team by refraining from:​

  • Inappropriate language, acts or gestures

  • Harassment or threats of any form

  • Disruption behaviour which impacts others

If you are requested to leave the training / assessment session due to your behaviour, no refund of fees paid will occur. 

Smoking Policy

Our facilities are smoke/vape free and smoking/vaping anywhere on premises is not permitted. 

Time Keeping

Assessment or course start and finish times must be adhered to. Please arrive 5-10 minutes prior to exam start time. Latecomers will only be accepted at the discretion of our assessment supervisors.

Mobile Phones and other Business Tools

Please ensure phones and other communication equipment are switched off during all assessment or training sessions.

Consequences

If following a verbal warning, or warnings, a candidate continues to fail to adhere to any of the enclosed stated terms and conditions, or reasonable instruction from an assessment supervisor, the candidate will be requested to leave the assessment/course.

Pre-requisite Knowledge

We recommend candidates revise the relevant assessment framework prior to the completion of the assessment. We strongly encourage all candidates to complete our Health and Safety Awareness course prior to attending the Foundation Assessment.

Photo Identification

All candidates completing ConstructSafe assessments must make available to the assessment supervisors at the time of the assessment, either a NZ Drivers Licence, Passport, or Firearms Licence. Failure to provide ConstructSafe approved ID will prevent you from completing assessment. Where a candidate is unable to present approved ID, a refund of fees paid will be at the sole discretion of Workplace Training.  

Assistance Required

  • Please advise our team (in confidence) before the start of the assessment of any physical or learning/literacy difficulties you, or in the case of employers, your employee, may have e.g. difficulty in reading or hearing.

  • If candidates have difficulties during the assessment they should not hesitate to talk to our team.

Withdrawals/Cancellations/Refunds

If you are unable to attend an assessment or training course, the following applies:​

  • Cancellation on schedule day of assessment / training – no refund of fees or other non- refundable travel or other costs already invoiced

  • No show on day of assessment / training – no refund of fees other non- refundable travel or other costs already invoiced

  • Requested to leave training / assessment due to your behavior – no refund of fees

  • Written cancellation (email or txt) 24 hrs prior to scheduled assessment / training – fees will be carried over to an alternative mutually convenient day/time

We are happy to substitute attendees with appropriate warning and as long as they meet any required criteria.

At the sole discretion of Workplace Training, circumstances which prevent a candidate from completing an assessment or training course will be considered with regards to the refund of fees.

Administration Fee

Where a request for cancellation of services is received a minimum of 24 hrs prior to the intended time/date of services to be delivered, AND a refund of fees is requested, a full refund will be made by Workplace Training excluding an administration fee of $50+GST.

ConstructSafe ID Cards

ConstructSafe do not issue ID cards for candidates. For verification of competency, candidates can log into the ConstructSafe app on their phone. Please contact us if you require any assistance in accessing the app.

Re-Assessment Procedure & Costs

The opportunity for re-assessment (resit) is available if the candidate doesn’t achieve competence. Additional fees normally apply for re- assessments as identified in the general clause above, and our associated Terms and Conditions. This is currently $50+GST for every even numbered attempt and $145+GST for every odd numbered attempt.

Complaint / Appeals Procedure

Complaints arising from any course or if you wish to appeal any judgment or finding relating to your assessment please:​

  • Discuss with our assessment / training team at the time.

  • If you are still not satisfied, appeal in writing within 24hrs to our management team, info@workplacetraining.nz

  • If still not satisfied, please contact ConstructSafe as soon as possible.

Privacy

If you are an individual, you have rights under the Privacy Act 2020 to access information held by us, and to request the correction of such personal information. In respect of such personal information, You:

  • Authorise us to obtain personal information about You, via your enrolment form and your use of Workplace Training services on behalf of ConstructSafe or for registration and statistical purposes.

  • Authorise us to use your personal information for direct marketing and promotional activities, research and development purposes in respect of the provision of our services to you.

Terms and Conditions.

By attending any assessment and/or training conducted by Workplace Training, you are agreeing in full without exception to the above clauses and requirements including our Terms and Conditions
